World AIDS Day Youth Event

Regan Hofmann, renown AIDS activist,  spoke at Greenwich High School and p1030768-2Greenwich Academy on December 4th to over 350 students.   In Spring of 2009, students from area high schools formed a Youth Council to begin preparations for World AIDS Day.  World AIDS Day, observed December 1 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic.  This year, local students conceived a program that combined education and philanthropy.  Celebrated author, activist, and person living with HIV, Regan Hofmann (also editor-in-chief of POZ  magazine), shared her story at Greenwich High School as well as Greenwich Academy/Brunswick.  Her presentation was followed on December 11th with AID for AIDS, a dance at Arch Street Teen Center where students celebrated life while promoting awareness and raising money to fight AIDS.

On World AIDS Day, we honor the millions of people around the world who have been impacted by the AIDS epidemic - those who are living with HIV, those we have lost, and the caregivers, families, friends and communities who have provided support.

Red Ribbon Foundation 2008 Fundraiser - Post Event

Saturday, October 18, 2008 – Stamford, Ct – In a dramatic departure from usual “benefit” format, guests to the Red Ribbon Foundation’s biennial fundraising event were treated to an electrifying kaleidoscope of entertainment, food, drinks, dance and music, all designed to engage the partygoer with the serious issues in the fight against HIV/AIDS while living up to the organization’s reputation of hosting the “best party of the year”.  The event raised over $650,000.
